AECOM's engineering team engaged Kingston Block & Masonry to produce 700-800,000 Pozzotive CMU for the construction of all seven stations along the Second Avenue Subway in New York City. 30% of the Portland cement needed to produce the CMUs was replaced by Pozzotive; per block, that's a savings of up to 1.5 pounds of CO2 emissions. The post-consumer glass used to make the Pozzotive was derived directly from landfills in the NYC Metropolitan Area.
